Background: Growing up in Brooklyn can be really difficult. Growing up as a mutant can be downright hazardous. Erina Brighton could tell you all about that. Born of a very tight-knit Irish American family, Erina was named after her maternal grandmother. Outgoing and energetic, Erina's early years were suprisingly dull. She was a late bloomer, and for a while considered herself quite the ugly duckling.

This all changed during her early teens. While carrying a vital school report, a severe wind blew the papers high in the air. She chased them desperately, collecting them all.

Then she looked down, and gasped. The papers hadn't come down, instead she had risen to catch them! She could fly! It didn't take her long to learn that she could fly very fast on a trail of light, create a force field, and fire off bolts of light. Thus, Photon was born.

An anomaly in her mutant genetic structure had left her undetected until after her powers had manifested. This led to tragedy, as Genocide strike teams tracked her to her parent's place. In a pitched fight, Erina managed to see off the agents, but her parents were killed and her house was badly damaged. This has led Erina to hate Genocide intensly, and she'd like nothing better than to incinerate the entire organization.

Quote: "In the dark? Let me shed some light on that!"

Personality: For the most part, Erina is outgoing, optimistic, and direct. She's radically different when confronting Genocide agents, however, becoming cold and harsh.

Powers/Tactics: Photon is a classic energy projector. She blasts targets with her light-based energy blasts while using her flight to maintain her distance, and her force field to protect her in case of attack.

Appearance:Erina is a slender, physically fit and athletic young woman with clear blue eyes, medium brown hair worn to just past her sholders, and a striking face. As Erin, she dresses conservatively, as she usually works as an office temp. As Photon, her costume consists of white gloves and boots, a white leotard, a black satin vest trimmed with gold, and a yellw sash worn around her waist.
